What's Different About Biblical Counseling?

Biblical Counseling differs from other kinds of therapy because it deals with how God wants to heal a person's life instead of only focusing on their problems - it is rooted in a biblical worldview that examines one's life through biblical principles, rather than secular values which can be common in other forms of therapy.

Biblical Counseling relies on Scripture as the foundational and primary source of counseling wisdom. The Bible tells us who we are, why we're here, how to understand the many hardships we experience in this life and places our struggles and pain in the context of Scriptural truth and hope.

Biblical Counseling helps us understand God's purposes for us, both in pain and in happiness. It walks us through fears, despair, and trauma, drawing us into Jesus' joy. Perhaps most importantly, Biblical Counseling helps us connect the implications of the Scriptures to the details of our lives. That's what we all need most - to see how the Gospel applies to us personally, giving us hope and healing that transforms by renewing our minds into the likeness of Christ.

HERE'S HOW IT WORKS

We are with you every step of the way.

Everything you need is organized into your own personal online space which contains insightful and practical lessons with fillable workbooks, online journals, videos, inspirational music, uplifting testimonies, and audio files .... all the tools you need for your journey to Healing and Growth. Prior to meeting with your Biblical Counselor, you will follow the step-by-step system by completing your assignments. You and your Biblical Counselor will meet for 45 to 60 minutes, 2 to 4 times a month on a schedule and in a venue you both decide works best for your appointments.

Our in-depth counseling program has brought hope, healing, and help to individuals for over 40 years. We're confident you will be encouraged and blessed too. As you work through each step, you will experience healing and growth in your life.

What makes Biblical Counseling Transformational?

Biblical counseling transforms lives because it is based on God's Word (Bible) and the counselors pray for wisdom and guidance as they meet with clients. Counselors listen and then point clients to specific life application. It is intensely practical and relies heavily on the comprehensive gathering of information for understanding. Through our counseling we have witnessed healthy transformations in all seven areas of life; spiritual, psychological, social, physical, financial, marital and parental so you can walk victoriously in your daily walk.

Do your counselors have areas of specialties?

Yes, our counselors have years of experience in counseling and they have all earned a Masters degree in biblical counseling. We work with adolescents, individuals, couples and marriages that are struggling with anger, anxiety, abuse, depression, infidelity, sexual struggles and many other issues. Do I have to believe in God to get counseling?

No, we meet you right where you are, no matter your spiritual beliefs. We believe the Bible offers the foundation of truths that bring hope and healing at a heart level to all of life's struggles. Our counseling is built on relationships, as we are not meant to walk alone. Our counselors demonstrate God's gracious pursuit of you; listening and walking alongside of you in your life struggles with encouragement and understanding.

How many counseling sessions will I need?

We recommend meeting regularly for 3 months. During your counseling session, you and your counselor can discuss the frequency which you both think you need to be meeting based on your progress. Every counseling situation is different. However, we have seen most of our clients make excellent progress with 10-16 sessions over four to five months.

What are the fees for counseling?

VCLI is a counseling ministry that provides an affordable monthly recurring counseling fee well below the national average for counseling services.

Our monthly recurring fee is $200 per month and gives you access to 2 - 4 counseling sessions per month. The length of each session is 45-60 minutes.
We accept many different payment types: Debit Card, Visa Card, Master Card, and American Express.
We do not accept insurance of any kind as we provide our fees well below the national average.

Do you provide counseling resource materials?

Yes, as part of VCLi's counseling ministry, you will have access to our counseling services membership. Once you have signed up, you will have instant access to all the counseling materials you and your counselor will be utilizing during your counseling sessions.

If you discontinue your personal counseling sessions, you can still have access to all the materials for your personal use at a reduced resource fee of $9.99 per month. (By subscribing to the SALT Vault)

How do I pay for my sessions?

After you choose your counselor and schedule your first appointment, click on the Enrollment button on your counselor's profile page. You will be provided a secure online form to enter your payment information. Your credit card will be charged monthly until you cancel.

What is your cancellation policy?

Clients are asked to cancel appointments at least 24 hours prior to the appointment. This gives others the opportunity to use the canceled time slot. If no cancellation is made, or if less than 24 hours notice is received, except for absolute emergencies, then you will be charged for the appointment.

PLEASE NOTE: Your credit card will be charged monthly on the anniversary of the date you signed up. If you are ready to cancel your counseling services membership, YOU must access your account and click the menu tab "Change-Update My Membership". Otherwise, your card will continue to be charged.

We do not issue refunds.
